CADTH Lecture Series – Reimagining Health Technology Assessment

Register today for our virtual CADTH Lecture Series featuring Brian O'Rourke, President of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) and former President and CEO of CADTH. 

In 2019, the International Network of Agencies for HTA (INAHTA) and Health Technology Assessment International (HTAi), co-led a joint international task group that published a new definition of HTA. Creating this new and internationally accepted definition was described as an historic achievement and provided a cornerstone reference for today and into the future. 

Since the publication of this new definition, there have been several factors that have reinforced the new definition and that are contributing to the evolution of HTA principles and practices. Brian will discuss the drivers for change and present his thoughts on how we might want to reimagine HTA.

Brian is this year’s recipient of the Dr. Jill M. Sanders Award of Excellence in Health Technology Assessment, which recognizes and celebrates individuals whose outstanding achievements have significantly advanced the field of health technology assessment in Canada.
