Bringing together health professionals, patients, system leaders, and researchers, this 2-day event is a unique opportunity to learn about Choosing Wisely’s leading efforts taking place across the country.
Heather Logan, CADTH’s Vice-President, Strategic Relationships and Initiatives, will be part of an expert panel discussing Policy as a Tool for Reducing Overuse.
Many drivers of the overuse of tests and treatments are “baked into” the health care system and beyond the control of individual clinicians’ decision-making which requires top-down interventions. Tai Huynh, Heather Logan, and James Silvius share insights on how policy change, if done wisely, can be a powerful force for massive reductions in overuse and improving health system sustainability.
- Tai Huynh, Campaign Director, Choosing Wisely Canada
Heather Logan, Vice-President, Strategic Relationships and Initiatives, CADTH
Dr. James Silvius, Executive Director, Canadian Medication Appropriateness and Deprescribing Network - Nicole Williams, Director, Negotiations Branch, Ontario Ministry of Health (moderator)
