Today we are proud to mark World Evidence-Based Healthcare (EBHC) Day, a global initiative to highlight the critical role of evidence in improving health outcomes, enhancing clinical care, and informing policy .
The 2022 World EBHC Day campaign focuses on partnerships within the global evidence ecosystem that are working to bridge research, policy, and practice, and realize the potential of evidence-based health care.
To help celebrate World EBHC Day, we are hosting a panel of global leaders in real-world evidence (RWE) to discuss cross -sector collaboration, opportunities to leverage, and challenges to address. The virtual event, moderated by our Chief Scientist, Dr. Nicole Mittmann, begins at 11:00 a.m. ET and there is still time to register.

We have long been known as a convenor and enthusiastic partner within the pan-Canadian and global health technology assessment (HTA) communities. This commitment to collaboration is particularly evident in work that is now underway to advance the use of RWE in regulatory and reimbursement decision-making for rare diseases. Harnessing international expertise and creating opportunities for multi-stakeholder dialogue are essential components of the many projects that are underway as part of this initiative.
To extend and strengthen global cooperation beyond RWE, we have entered into a formal partnership agreement with 6 HTA bodies from 3 continents. The agreement allows the partners to collaborate on shared priorities and identify solutions to common challenges they each face. Initial priority areas for this work include COVID-19, future-proofing HTA systems, collaborating with regulators, work-sharing and efficiency gains, and digital and artificial intelligence.
