Dr. Tyberg is chief of staff, chair of the medical advisory committee, and vice president, academic and medical affairs at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. His portfolio includes pharmacy, medical education, and research.
He has a medical degree from McGill University and trained in emergency medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in clinical pharmacology and toxicology at the Hospital for Sick Children. He also has a Master of Business Administration from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto.
Jeffrey’s prior roles include director of professional services for the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay, emergency physician and trauma team leader at St. Michael’s Hospital, toxicology consultant for the Ontario Poison Information Centre, department chief of emergency medicine at Michael Garron Hospital and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, and chief of staff at Georgian Bay General Hospital.
In addition, Jeffrey has held leadership positions with the University of Toronto, the Ontario Medical Association, the Ontario Hospital Association, and was a consultant to the Ministry of Health of Ontario. Dr. Tyberg was a member of the Examination Board of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Tyberg currently serves on the Board of Directors of Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre and has previously served on the Board of Georgian Bay General Hospital. His interests include patient safety, pharmacology and toxicology, medical governance, and health policy.
